Hey there! I'm Patrick Lonkay, digital product designer from Germany. I've had many labels throughout my career in the design industry, but it's safe to say that I enjoy crafting digital experiences.

I discovered my love for graphic design over a decade ago. Since then I've been constantly branching out into different areas, always picking up and learning something new along the way. Mentionable stations on my path were video editing, animation, illustration, photography, print-design, user interface- and user experience-design. You will find that many designers, especially self-taught ones like I am, will have a similar, non-linear career-background. What I love about product design is the fact that I am able to combine many facettes of my gathered knowledge into one product with the main focus being making the design as user-centric as possible while aligning with the company's goals. Sometimes I feel like I hit the jackpot profession-wise.

In my last job I had the opportunity to work with the brilliant minds over at some.oner, an agency focusing on (but not limiting themselves to) developing digital solutions and helping businesses transition into the digital age. I very much enjoyed working with the team and was given many opportunities to further develop my existing skills but also branch out into new areas – which is one of the many reasons why I stayed with them for almost 7 years. Notable professional accomplishments were adding profound coding capabilities to my skill set (HTML, CSS and some JavaScript) that allow me to quickly prototype designs to bridge the gap between designers and developers (devs really enjoy working with me!) or build the product myself. One of the agencies' unique selling points are the fact that they're developing their own Content Management System called "black.t" (like the beverage). It allows even non-tech-savy users to easily manage their websites quickly. I was given the exciting task to develop a new design system and further improve the already very user-friendly user-experience.

Currently I am working as a Frontend-Developer for sipgate in Düsseldorf, a company that specializes in Cloud-Telephony.
